In between all the exercise, we traded stomach bugs which was fun for everyone.
Katie and I went to our local middle school's production of "Once on this Island" which is sort of a Caribbean version of the Little Mermaid. She loved it. She also had a day off from school for a teacher's workday and went to the Zoo with Nancy and Peter (along with seemingly half of her school too). They got to see the orangutans climb across the wires high above, the newly renovated seal and sea lion exhibit, the new elephant exhibit, and of course the Pandas.
My hockey team was lucky enough to play a game in the Verizon Center (where the Caps play their games). It was a lot of fun and we won 5-1! It's pretty amazing to be on the ice and look up at the huge arena. The nosebleed seats look soooo far away.

I was at the rink to get my skates sharpened and one of the Caps, Mike Green, was there leaving practice. He grunted nicely at the giggly girls and then hopped in his black Maserati and sped off.

The start line of the kid's fun run. The race was the Heroes and Villains 5k and there were lots of people dressed as their favorite hero or villain (mostly Supermans, Spidermans, etc... but there was one couple dressed as Bacon and Eggs).

Katie got to sing with a local musician (Kate Moran) at St Elmo's Coffeeshop. They sang Old McDonald and she picked a cat and a rooster for the animals in the song.
