This year we met up with our friends Anne, Matt, and little Ivy. Anne and I used to work together at the Post and it was great to see them all again. Katie loved all the marching, bagpipes, and drums. During the parade she kept saying "Ho ho" in giddy anticipation of seeing Santa. Finally, the big red firetruck drove by with Santa on top. Unfortunately, he was sitting on the opposite side from us but she still managed to get a glimpse.
Later that day we went to a Christmas party hosted by Nancy's friend Tara. it started snowing on the way to the party which made it feel very Christmas-like. Afterwards we went to our favorite pizza place, the Lost Dog Cafe, to eat a yummy pie.
Today we got our Christmas tree. I'll post photos of it later (as soon as we get around to trimming it).
Here are photos from the parade. More photos are here.

Bundled up and ready to go. Temperatures were in the 20's during the parade.
