Big Girl Bed

Tonight Katie slept in her big girl bed for the first time! It's one of those nights when it becomes so evident how fast she's growing! She looks so small in the big bed but also seems so grown up.

After what seems like years of looking at beds, mattresses, rails, sheets, and pillows, Nancy managed to ignore my suggestions to get the cheapest bed at Ikea and instead came up with an amazing ensemble for our little sweetie. Nancy found the bed frame at an antique dealer in Alexandria, the mattresses at a local store, and I have no idea where the sheets and pillows came from but they look really nice.

Somehow, Katie now has the nicest and most comfortable bed in the house. We were envious until we remembered that no one sleeps unless Katie sleeps. It's for the best that she is the most comfortable.

Poor Rusty lost his favorite bed though. And Katie's new bed is probably too high for him to jump on. Oh well. He'll have extra floor space in there and I have a feeling he'll join us more often in our bed.
