July and August were full of fun and adventure. Katie was the surprise star in a science show, had her first sleepover, and arranged a nice romantic dessert for our anniversary. Peter said goodbye to diapers and rode his first rollercoaster. Photos and videos are below. More photos are here.

Shelves in the toy closet! Thanks to Tim for figuring out what we needed.

Peter falls asleep on the way to the beach with his goggles on. The kids were in Connecticut helping Nancy with her Mom's house and had a well-deserved fun day.

Super Pete!

Peter eats a scoop of ice cream that's bigger than his head.

Rusty figured out how to maximize his exposure to the AC vent.

I guess sitting on the couch wasn't exciting enough.

Peter pauses to reflect on the playground.

Confident Katie

Combining the slide with the pool was the kids' idea.

Neither kid likes to lay normally on the bed. Luckily they don't have to share a bed with each other.

Peter is the first customer at Katie's Spa

The Apothecary (pharmacy) in Old Town Alexandria had a Harry Potter night and the kids had a great time.

The Apothecary has been around since the late 1700's and Martha Washington and Robert E. Lee were customers. It still looks exactly as it did hundreds of years ago.

Katie arranged for Nancy and me to have a romantic dessert on our 10th wedding anniversary.

Afterwards, Peter said he was scared, although he seems to be handling it better than the girl behind him.

But she still managed a nice smile.

Katie went on her friend Norah's boat on the Potomac River one evening.
