Katie dipped strawberries in chocolate and cut up some melons to create a bouquet for Nancy for Mother's Day.  Katie did a great job and it was fun taking her to the grocery store to listen to her think aloud on how she wanted to do it.

The butterfly chapel at Peter's preschool.  Caterpillars had been growing in the classrooms and now they are butterflies and ready to go explore the world.  It was Pastor Sara's last butterfly chapel.  She's retiring to Richmond after spending 20+ years at the church.

Wheel Day in our neighborhood.  The road is closed to car traffic and the kids get to ride their bikes down the long street and enjoy a fun party at the finish line.  They've been doing it for over 70 years.

Untitled
Katie decorated her bike with a Caps theme, even though they had already sadly been eliminated in the playoffs.

Untitled
She also helped Peter decorate his scooter.

April 2016

Katie's April got off to a slow start when she got sick and missed nearly her entire Spring Break and a good chunk of school.  But she recovered nicely and got right back to work on her usual dizzying array of activities like her sewing class, her "Green Pandas" environmental club, gymnastics, swim team, after-school French lessons, Girl Scouts, and reading every book she can get her hands on.

Peter had an active month and learned to rollerblade and ride a bike.  He also cuddled a lot with Katie while she was sick.  It was very cute.

Peter rollerblades for the first time without his training wheels (the back of the skate would have two wheels side-by-side to make it easier to balance).

Peter learned to ride a bike!  It was amazing.  The National Park Rangers taught him in about 90 minutes.

Riding around the neighborhood.  It was a little harder on the narrow sidewalk but he got the hang of it.

We had several short video clips of Peter's busy April so we put them together in one big video.
