Halloween 2008

Katie had a fun Halloween dressed as a bunny. Our neighborhood had a party for kids in our rec center. Katie saw lots of good costumes including a lion, a cat, a train engineer (her neighbor Cameron), and a dalmation. There was plenty of pizza which made the adults happy.

After the party we went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood with Randy, Nicki, Cooper, and Sophie. Cooper was dressed as a Power Ranger ("the RED Power Ranger", he kept correcting everyone), and Sophie was a very cute bumble bee. We took Rusty with us but we're not sure he enjoyed stopped every 15 feet to wait for the kids to get candy. "I thought we were going for a walk, not a sit-around-a-wait-for-the-kids," I thought I heard him say. But after our neighbor Lisa gave Rusty some treats too, he decided it wasn't so bad after all.

Our neighbors Dana and Bob generously let Katie use their cute fuzzy bunny basket. Katie loved it. At first she wasn't sure why we were going to all the doors but after a while she seemed to get the hang of it. When people would try to put candy in her basket she would grab it and put it in herself. It took over an hour to go around our block and everyone was pretty tired when we finished. We all sat on our stoop for a while and passed out candy and then called it a night.

It was fun to see all our neighbors and their kids dressed up. We like being in a neighborhood with so many kids and creative adults. So now we're busily eating candy all day long (I think I'm eating most of it). In fact, I've eaten so much that yesterday I yearned for a salad.

Here are some photos. More photos are here.
