Last month we walked down to Del Ray's fabulous
Art on the Ave. It's a big street festival in the heart of Del Ray with lots of artists, bands, kids activities, and yummy food. This year the weather was perfect. In the past the weather has been boiling hot. Katie painted a pumpkin, got a ladybug painted on her face, watched some young dancers, sat in a firetruck, and petted some sheep, rabbits, and a pony. We bought Katie a ladybug painting for her room but it's currently sitting on her floor waiting to be hung (there's a long list of things waiting for that).
The only downside was that we kept telling Katie that a moon bounce was at the end of the festival. We did that mainly to keep her moving along (it's a big festival). Every year they've had a moon bounce at the end so we kept egging her on. Moon bounce... Moon bounce... Moon Bounce... Alas, this year they decided to not have a moon bounce. Katie cried a bit but quickly recovered when she saw the petting zoo that replaced it. Whew!
All in all, it was a fun day and made us happy to be part of the Del Ray community.
