Katie's First Caps Game

On Tuesday Katie went to her first Caps game with me!  She was very excited and wore her red Ovechkin shirt and a red plaid skirt.  She looked very cute.  Katie loved chanting "C-A-P-S! CAPS! CAPS! CAPS!" and "Let's Go Caps!" with the crowd.  She also loved seeing Slapshot, the Caps mascot.  And, of course, when her favorite player Ovechkin was on the ice she was cheering for him.

We were lucky enough to get front row seats and made it on tv a few times as blurry figures in the background.  I put a few screengrabs below.  The highlight was when Brooks Laich scored the game tying goal in the final minutes and they celebrated right in front of us.  I grabbed Katie and held her up to the glass which I think startled her.

All in all, it was a great night of fun and she can't wait to go back soon!  Photos and a video are below.  More photos are here.

During the warmup skate.

She was possibly more excited to see the Cotton Candy man than she was when the Caps tied the game in dramatic fashion.

Cheering the Caps when the tied the game (or possibly wondering what the heck is going on).

This photo was on ESPN.com.  I'm on the far right either making butterfly signs with my hands, doing some sort of Greek dance, or trying to decide whether to clap or bang on the glass.

Video from the tv broadcast of the game with a few snippets of Katie in the background.
