We opened presents with Grammy Butler and then played with the presents (kids) or took a nap (me). Then we went to Sue and John's farm for a yummy lunch/dinner of ham, potatoes, brussel sprouts, and other stuff. On the way home, we went through the holiday lights display at Manassas (after getting lost on the way). We were hoping we were the only ones that were there but it seemed like most of DC came too. They had some really neat lights that the kids enjoyed so it was worth it. Poor Peter was about to fall asleep before we got there and we kept waking him up.
Santa brought the kids an indoor trampoline that they love. It doubles as a play to lay and sit while watching tv. Katie got an American Girl doll, McKenna (who she keeps accidentally calling Kit). She asked for one last year and we thought we fooled her by giving her a regular doll but eventually she found out somehow. Katie also got a ribbon-on-a-stick so she can practice her rhythmic gymnastics routines, a science kit, a Disney game for Xbox, a Cinderella DVD, Barbie dolls, some nice outfits for McKenna, and lots of other nice stuff. Peter got a remote-control firetruck, a fun bathtub toy, blocks, some trains and tracks, and lots of other fun stuff. Nancy got a new GPS running watch and I got a Lego robot (so I can start building my robot army) and an Xbox (supposedly for the kids too).

Watching the holiday displays at National Harbor including the lighting of the tree and "snow" falling from the sky.

Waiting for Santa?

Ho ho ho!

Mice cookies that Sue and Nancy made.

Katie getting a sewing lesson from Grammy.

Watching the water-skiing Santa at National Harbor. The rainy weather made this year's show a little shorter.

Katie in her pretty dress and coat at Christmas Eve Mass. She was on her best behavior during Mass. Peter, on the other hand, decided he was done about halfway through.

Katie's fancy note she made for Santa.

The calm before the chaos.

Kit! Er, I mean McKenna!

Katie gave us presents that she made herself, along with wrapping paper she made and she even wrote our names on the cards.

Which one's the doll?

Peter tries to run over his sister with the remote control fire truck.

Katie put together her new puzzle in record time.

Uncle John reads Katie a story while the boys play ball.

Nice follow through Peter!

The boys give each other stamps.

Eyeing the unopened presents under Sue and John's tree.

Playing with Theo's new toys.

Merry Christmas (and you too Clyde)!
