Happy New Year!

After Christmas the kids had a lot of fun playing with their new presents and trying to catch snowflakes on their tongues during our very brief snowfall.  Katie was very active in planning Nancy's birthday and came up with some great ideas.  We served Nancy breakfast in bed (donuts) and then all day Katie kept coming up with new surprises like making confetti and throwing it on Nancy and picking out a yummy ice cream cake at the Dairy Godmother.  Then we had a nice dinner at one of Nancy's favorite restaurants, Luna in Shirlington.

On New Year's Eve Katie tried to stay up until midnight but crashed on the couch around 9:30pm.  I knew the odds were long when she asked around 8pm how long until it would be midnight.  When I said "4 hours" she then asked if that was enough time to eat a snack.  We ended up waking her up right before midnight but she was still groggy.  The next morning she and Peter had fun watching the Rose Bowl parade on tv.

Katie's ribbon dance with a special appearance by the little drummer boy.  The video has been sped up a bit.

Katie sings a song about Bazooka Bubblegum that she learned in school.  "Say what?!?"

Dance party with Peyton (a leftover from Thanksgiving).

Puddle jumping in the neighborhood.

Mr. Droopy Drawers acts goofy in the kitchen and slam dunks his head.
