Katie handled it well. We gave her the option of going to the funeral but she declined, which was a good decision for her. Katie and Peter were both very well behaved during the week in Naugatuck which was much appreciated. It was nice seeing so many friends and relatives we haven't seen in so long. We hope to see them again soon under happier circumstances.
Nancy and Peter went to Naugatuck after her passing, leaving Katie and I home. So what happens during a Katie & Daddy weekend?

Katie goes shopping at the excellent new Del Ray Variety Store (with small kid-sized shopping carts)

She gets her haired sprayed pink.

She rides a pony

She has way too much sugar (and her first soda).

Gets a tattoo

Plays with a huge slingshot

More tattoos

Falls off the couch while sleeping (and doesn't wake up)

Dresses like a Princess...

...and a bunny
Katie Cottontail

And eats yummy Mexican food at California Tortilla. It was a busy weekend without Mommy!

Giddy up!

Twirling Dervishes

Peter lounges in his high chair.

Nancy and Katie transfer the cocoons.

Nap time

Walk time

Who needs a double stroller? Just stack them on top of each other.

Katie's concert

Peter offers his critique of the concert

"Man, I wish we had a basketball hoop."

The butterflies are almost ready

Releasing the butterflies
Fly! Be free!

Hungry and lazy

The kids with their cousins Mark and Matt in Naugatuck.

The evening entertainment

Aunt Sarah gave Peter a cute dragon costume and Katie a pretty princess dress.

Katie, dressed as a dragon, helps Uncle Bob hammer.

Mike, Mark, and Elizabeth enjoy a laugh while Aunt Sue seems skeptical

Peter falls asleep during a movie (he didn't make it through the previews).

Peter was upset that there wasn't any room on the couch for his nap but he found space underneath the chair.

Daddy and Katie in the bed and room that Nancy slept in while growing up. The bed was her Dad's when he was a kid. On a side note, isn't black supposed to be slimming?!?

Naugatuck's Memorial Day parade

Nancy and Auntie Fran saw this rocket a few days earlier parked behind a restaurant and hoped it was for the parade.

Hopefully this isn't the only firetruck in Naugatuck.

Enjoying the parade

Back at home and it's sprinkler time!

Katie's canopy over her bed
