Katie loved playing in the ocean with Matt and her boogie board. She also flew her kite several times and got pretty good at it. At one point she had it way up high in the air for a long time. Peter had a kite too and got it up in the air mainly by running fast and pulling it behind him.
The kids also got to do all the other fun Cape Cod things like jumping on trampolines, eating yummy ice cream, and playing with each other. Aunt Sue and Uncle John were kind enough to watch our kids for a night so Nancy and I could sneak off and have a nice dinner in Chatham.
The weather was really nice while we were there. The water was a little on the cold side but not too bad. Katie had no problem playing in the water all day, either in the ocean or the pool. Peter seemed more reluctant to get in. But soon he'll probably be a fish like Katie.
Katie was sick for a few days with possibly strep throat. But she bounced back nicely before passing it on to Peter and Matt. Sharing is caring!
On our way back to Naugatuck, we stopped in Plymouth with Cousin Elizabeth to see the Pilgrim and Wampanoag villages. It was interesting and they did a good job making it look and feel authentic. But somehow we were a little underwhelmed. It was still fun though. Then we went to see the Mayflower II which is a replica of the Mayflower that was built in the 1950's in England. They built it using the same techniques and materials as the original Mayflower and then sailed it across the Atlantic to Plymouth.
