Rusty loves the deck on sunny days.

Our old AC. It was 20+ years old. Our furnace was 30+ years old (possibly even older than 40).

Katie and her friend Elizabeth at the Del Ray outdoor movie (Frozen)

Watching the movie. The whole crowd sang along to the catchy songs.

The boys didn't know the words though.

Katie learns how to ride a bike. In 2 short hours, the park rangers with the National Park Service had her zipping around like a pro. They start by taking off the pedals and letting the kids push off and glide. Then they steadily increase the distance they glide until they're comfortable balancing. Then they put the pedals back on and Katie was zipping around. It was pretty amazing.
Katie's bike riding lesson.

Nancy trades in her Saab that she had for 10 good years.

Peter waters the plants with his cow watering can. I took the kids to the gardening center to pick out a watering can for Nancy for Mother's Day and we ended up with 3 (one for Nancy and one for each kid).

Peter at the May Day celebration at his preschool. Apparently May Day involves flowers, hippy headbands, and digging.

Peter at the Maypole

Peter on his playground that was generously given to us by our neighbors. Years ago a neighbor across the street picked it up at a yard sale, used it for years, then passed it to our neighbor who passed it back and forth with the people that lived in our house. Now it's our turn. Peter loves it and insisted on eating dinner on it for the first few nights. He called it his "house".

Spidey is looking for trouble

Katie gets her soccer ball signed by a member of the Washington Spirit, a women's professional soccer team. They ran a clinic for Alexandria soccer players that Katie enjoyed.

Katie and Peter at Wheel Day, our neighborhood's annual celebration of riding anything with wheels. It was started by boy scouts in the 1940's. The Grand Marshall was a woman who has participated in every Wheel Day in the neighborhood.

Katie and Francesca zoom down the street.

Here comes Peter!

Finished!

Peter photobombs Katie and Norah at the Washington Monument. We went to the top and loved the views of beautiful DC. The monument recently re-opened after being damaged in the earthquake of 2011.
