Happy Feet

Katie went on 5 (five!) runs with her parents last week. The runs were all short (less than 2 miles) but we ran slow so it felt like we went further.

On Saturday Katie got to see her first movie with her best friend Sophie. She's the 7 week-old daughter of our neighbors, Randy and Nikki. We all walked down to Del Ray to watch "Happy Feet" in a park at dusk. It was a lot of fun. Their 3 year old son Cooper was having fun playing with all the other kids there. Katie and Sophie were happy just hanging out.

We left the movie a little early because someone was fussy but we got home just in time to see the fireworks from Alexandria's Waterfront Festival. One of the advantages of living on top of a big hill is that we can see fireworks from DC and Alexandria. Of course, the biggest disadvantage is having to go up a big freakin' hill to get home.

Katie and Sophie at the movie.

Which one looks like the trouble maker?

Katie wasn't exactly riveted to the screen.
