Then we walked up the Champs Elysee, had lunch, and gawked at all the upscale stores. The Champs Elysee has huge sidewalks that make it great for people watching and window shopping. We made it to the Arc de Triumphe and Katie and Nancy went to the top. I volunteered to stay behind in the warm underground lobby.
Then we walked down the Avenue de Franklin Roosevelt, crossed the river, and enjoyed a nice stroll back to our apartment with Paris lit up in the evening. Katie was asleep for most of the walk home. BTW, the German Embassy is on Avenue Franklin Roosevelt and near Avenue de General Eisenhower. The Germans must hate that as much as the French enjoyed doing it to them.
Tonight we're going out for dinner and then hopefully getting another good night's sleep. Our plan for tomorrow depends on the weather. If it's raining, we'll go to a museum (probably either Musee D'orsay or the Louvre). If it's sunny, we may go to the Jardin Luxembourg, climb the Eiffel Tower, or go to Palace at Versailles.
Here are some photos from today. More are here.

The little poles in the foreground are hoping to grow up to be Eiffel Towers.
