This year Katie dressed up as Ariel (the Little Mermaid) and got to wear her mermaid dress and wig lots of times. Her school had a Halloween event with a magician, costume parade, and silent auction (we won some beer glasses!). Then she wore it to the Halloween parade, a party at my office, our neighborhood Halloween party, and, of course, for trick-or-treating.
We're lucky to live in a great area for trick-or-treating. Most of the residences are townhouses that are bunched tightly together so kids can hit them very quickly. Most of the people in our neighborhood are very supportive of kids knocking on their doors all night and some go all out with decorations. One house had an elaborate haunted house set up that Katie was a little too scared to try.

One of the cutest floats in the parade was this one with a bunch of babies in chick costumes.

Out trick-or-treating. Guess which one has had too much sugar?
