Katie celebrated May Day at her school by dancing around the may pole. The next day they had a butterfly chapel and released the butterflies that had been caterpillars all year in the classroom. Then there was lots of silliness around the house including playing with the water table, making funny faces, running races, making a homemade cast for a booboo, and lots of arts and crafts projects including making candles for Katie's teachers.
Over Memorial Day weekend we went to the concert at the US Capital for the annual concert with the National Symphony Orchestra. This year's performers were Natalie Cole, Trace Adkins, Doughtry, and one of the American Idol ladies. We went to the rehearsal night like we usually do because it's easier to manage but this year it had an extra benefit -- they ended up canceling the real performance the following night because of bad storms (which didn't seem that bad).
