We just got back from a fun week in Winder, GA visiting my parents. Katie got to spend quality Christmas time with her grandparents, her Aunt Lisa, Uncle Dave, and cousins Cassidy and Steven. She watched Cassidy dance as part of the Advent Wreath in Mass. She also got to watch her Aunt Lisa box on the Wii and her Dad get pummeled in every game by Steven. She was embarassed for me.
On Wednesday we took a day trip down to Columbus, GA to see Melinda and Tim's new house. They designed it themselves and are helping build it. The house is pretty close to being finished and we can't wait to see it when it is. It looks like it will be a great home.
Melinda helped out with Katie by feeding her and playing with her. Katie's cousins Kaylyn and Peyton played a lot with Katie too. Katie went to a big arcade with Kaylyn and Peyton on Friday but was too young to play anything. Maybe next year.
On Saturday my parents graciously babysat Katie for us while we snuck out to see Juno. The movie was great and we were very happy to hear that Katie was a perfect angel while we were away.
We drove back to Virginia on Sunday. The drive was long and it rained the entire way but we made it in time for me to change clothes and go play hockey. It felt good to skate around after sitting in the car all day. Rusty was really glad to be out of the car too.
All in all, it was a great trip and we can't wait to see everyone again. We just wish Georgia wasn't so far from Virginia. We were hoping our new GPS Garmin could find a shortcut but no luck.
You can view some photos from our trip here.
Merry Christmas!
