On day 3 (Friday), Peter spent more time with Katie and met his Aunt Sue. He also went for a walk with his parents down to check out the babies in the nursery. The hospital is full of "blizzard babies" (the Snowpocalypse was 9 months ago). 24 babies are being discharged today, including us! Our nurse said she thinks that's a record and that the last month has been crazy. Even with all the babies, we were amazed at how quiet our hall is. Occasionally you hear some crying but not often. We thought it'd be like a kennel, when one baby starts crying they all do. But luckily it hasn't been like that at all.
We're really excited about going home but we'll certainly miss the fleet of doctors and nurses to help us out. We'll miss the room service too but hospital food is no competition for Lost Dog pizza.
Peter is adjusting well to life outside the womb. He's been taking naps more regularly (mostly during the day) and opening his eyes to look around (mostly at night). He's more of a snacker than an eater (he gets that from his Dad) but he'll soon learn that the snack bar isn't always open.
Nancy is doing great and spending most of her time out of bed, walking around and sitting in chairs. Luckily marathon season is over or she'd probably start training for one of them.
